Children's Department

The Children’s Department at our Library is a magical place for kids. The area features shelves full of books, comfortable seating just right for sharing a story.  Whether it’s around the corner or across the universe, our children’s library has kids going places!

Keep children learning and entertained with many of the programs and activities that the library offers.  Here are just a few of the special things that children can enjoy at Azaiki Public Library Children’s Department:

  • Books, magazines, CDs for children of various age;
  • A Children’s Mural featuring colorful images;
  • LEGO Room
  • Children’s internet access and Children’s Game Computers
  • After-school, holiday, and seasonal programs featuring stories and crafts
  • Special monthly programming for 8-12 year olds

Children below the age of 8 years old must be accompanied by someone 13 years of age or older.  Children must be at least 6 years old to sign up for their own library card.  A parent or guardian with 2 forms of ID (one with a current address) must be present to sign a child up for a library card.

E-Library

What is the e-Library?
This service allows our visitors to read digital materials, such as 30 millions eBooks, eAudio books and electronic newspapers using PCs installed in our Library and connected in intranet network.

Who can use the e-Library?
The service is available to local readers registered as Diamond or Gold Members of the Library. See detailed information about all available classes of Membership

How do I register to use the eLibrary?
You need to register to use the eLibrary using the registration form provided by our staff and to choose Diamond or Gold Membership Class. If you’re not already a member of the Azaiki Public Library we will enroll you and provide you a registration code which you will need to activate your access to the e-Library.

From the moment you first enter your registration code, you will have access to the e-Library service for one year.  If you wish to continue using the e-Library, you will need to fill out another registration form. You will then obtain a new registration code to renew your access to the e-Library.

Conference / Lectures

The Library’s state Conference Centre offers exceptional and flexible facilities for conferences, meetings, product launches, lectures, private screenings and media events. Our dedicated team is on hand to ensure that whether you are planning a small meeting or a large conference we anticipate all your needs and most importantly exceed your expectations.

The auditorium can accommodate up to 150 delegates, with facilities for film, sound and video presentation. This, combined with a full team of onsite technical expertise, ensures world-class delivery.

In addition, there are few comfortable and individually designed meeting rooms allowing for 8-20 delegates. All rooms have natural daylight, electronic blackout blinds, climate control and sound proofing.

We pride ourselves on the highest level of service, always attentive without being intrusive. Your conference and event will have a dedicated Events manager who will be involved from the first meeting and will be drawn from our highly-qualified team to ensure that your event is a complete success.

Coffee Bar

Library’s Coffee Bar is a great place to meet friends or take a coffee break. Relief from those long study or work hours is just steps away! Sit down and enjoy a variety of coffee drinks, bakery items, wraps, and salads.

Institute of Science and Technology

The Institute of Science and Technology Yenagoa (IST Yenagoa) is a new interdisciplinary research-led institute dedicated to applied research and education in science and technology, located in Yenagoa, Bayelsa Sate, Nigeria. The Institute’s objective is to empower our generation and make a contribution to the nation to help uplift the progress in business, science, technology and to undertake cutting-edge research that will inform policy and development in Nigeria.

Additionally, the Institute seeks to:

Develop leaders in society or industry who hold credible expertise in the frontier science and technology, broad perspectives, high level of autonomy and communication ability, through its systematic advanced continuing professional development courses.
Contribute to Nigerian societies with research outcomes, creates a centre of excellence for advancement of empirical work for solving problems of our country and society and develops new fields through a variety of applied empirical research studies.
