AZAIKI FOUNDATION AND PUBLIC LIBRARY INAUGURATES BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Azaiki Foundation and Public Library has inaugurated its board of trustees to give guidance and formulate policies that would enhance the productivity of the foundation.
Inaugurating the 14-member board, the founder and president of the Azaiki Foundation and Public Library, Professor Steve Azaiki, charged them to put their goodwill and expertise into good use in order to attract more patronage to the facility.

Professor Azaiki appreciated the members for responding to the invitation in such short notice and noted that they were carefully and painstakingly picked due to their pedigree as dignitaries who have made huge impact in the society in their various fields of endeavours.

In his goodwill message, veteran historian, professor emeritus Ebiegberi Alagoa, who is also a honourary board member, commended professor Azaiki for his vision and foresight to set up such a library with state-of-the-arts facilities for public good and scholarly research.
He called on the newly inaugurated board to diversify the usage of the library with policies that would be out of the box to encourage the establishment of community-based libraries.

Also speaking, the facility manager, Oyinmiebi Odondiri, disclosed that the complex has reading rooms, event halls, the e-library section with over thirty million e-books and the richly stocked museum of African Arts as well as the Niger Delta Oil Museum, and the Institute of Science and Technology among others.
Responding on behalf of the board, a former head of service in the Bayelsa State, Dr. Josephine Igodo, appreciated professor Azaiki for finding them worthy and pledged the commitment of the board to give direction and formulate robust policies that will put the facility into good use for public good.

The board is chaired by Chief Godwin Odumgba, with Hon. Noble Akenge as Secretary.
Other members include Chief Lambert Ototo, Professor Ambily Etekpe, Pastor Enoch Ikelemo, Obomo Spiff and Dr. Lucky Eleanya.
Others include Madam Somkime Stephen, Barrister Lawrence Ewhrudjakpor, Hon. Fred Nyanayo,
Dr. Stanley Akele, Mrs Juliet Pulu-Zifawei and Mr. Izontimi Otuogha.
The members were taken on a facility tour of the two-storied Library Complex by Professor Steve Azaiki.
